Christy Daniel

Mental Health Caseworker

Christy Daniel joined the Lubbock Private Defender’s Office as a Mental Health Caseworker in March 2025. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, where she focused on political journalism and mental health topics. During her time at UT, she served as a Mental Health Events Coordinator with the Moody College Communication Council, where she planned campus-wide events to connect students with mental health resources available to them. Before joining LPDO, she worked in the mental health field as a behavioral therapist, and is now pursuing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas Tech University.

With a background in both journalism and counseling education, Christy brings a unique perspective to her role as a Mental Health Caseworker. She is deeply committed to helping others and thrives on using her research and communication skills to effectively advocate for her clients. Christy believes that mental health is just as important as physical health, and that every individual deserves access to the support, understanding, and resources needed to live a fulfilling life.

Outside of work and school, Christy enjoys cooking, reading, taking her dog to the park, and playing golf with her husband.
