Melissa Miranda began working with Lubbock Private Defenders’ Office in August 2022. Melissa has over 18 years’ experience with Lubbock County. She began her career working in the District Clerks Office and was promoted to other positions within the county such as 72nd District Court Coordinator, Specialty Courts Coordinator, Mental Health Court Coordinator, and Office of Court Administration Coordinator. While working for Lubbock County Melissa earned a bachelor’s degree from Wayland Baptist University in Justice Administration.

After leaving Lubbock County, Melissa went on to become a Specialized Parole Officer with Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She also held the position of a Case Manager at the Texas Civil Commitment Center in Littlefield, TX.

Melissa enjoys working with the Lubbock Private Defenders’ Office and helping to make a positive impact in the community. She is a proud mom of a Texas Tech Red Raider. Melissa also enjoys spending time with family and friends during her free time.
